Translation Quality Manager

Last week, we discussed the need of a proofreader… then, we asked:

Why do we still need someone else to read the translation? Why do we need a Translation Quality Manager?

According to our experience in translating manuals, legal cases of thousands and thousands words…large files on accidents reports or Business Reports… we’ve found that these 3 steps of TRANSLATION, PROOFREADING and QUALITY MANAGEMENT are really useful.

And here is how we work:

Our Project Managers and office support prepare the files for translation.

Our translation team works in preparing the glossaries and the translation.

The proofreaders read the translation and check for consistency, accuracy, etc.

And finally, the Quality Managers:

Read the entire document, Source against Target document.

Look for mistakes: punctuation, typos, spelling, etc.

Check language against glossaries, past jobs or any specific requirement.

Check formatting according to the client’s requests, and

Make sure that the Target document is as close as possible to the Source document.

Only then, can we confidently deliver the FINAL PRODUCT TO THE CLIENT.
